Stephen Cockburn - Non-Executive Director

Steve Cockburn is a manager at an international human rights organisation, and leads the organisation’s global research and campaigns on economic and social rights. He is involved in LCHR in a personal capacity.

He previously spent eight years in West Africa, leading Amnesty’s research across the region on issues ranging from conflict in Cameroon to freedom of expression in Gambia, as well as managing Oxfam’s regional policy and campaigns work. He is also a Trustee of Transparency International UK. Steve studied International Human Rights Law at the University of Nottingham, Development Management at LSE, and Politics at the University of Edinburgh.
