Sarah Champion MP

Sarah Champion is the Member of Parliament for Rotherham. She was elected in a by-election in November 2012. Before her appointment she was the CEO of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and prior to that ran arts organisations.
 
Since February 2020 Sarah has Chaired the International Development Select Committee (IDC). This committee scrutinises ODA (Official Development Assistance) spending across government. 
 
Sarah has campaigned extensively on issues such as preventing child abuse, modern slavery, smart motorways, equal pay, violence against women and girls (VAWG) and LGBT rights. She has a particular interest in the rights of women and children.
 
Nationally and internationally Sarah has acted to support the human rights of some of the most marginalised and vulnerable people. She is pleased to continue that work through the advisory group.
